Oculoplasty Consultant:
Dr Ishan Acharya undertook medical studies and Ophthalmology training at Baroda Medical College in Gujarat India. He developed an interest in all aspects of oculoplastic surgery during his post-graduation and did fellowship in Oculoplastic and Orbital surgery at Aravind Eye Care System; Madurai under expert guidance of Dr Usha Kim during 2003 to 2005. He was the first ophthalmologist to be trained as an oculoplasty surgeon from Gujarat.

He joined as a consultant and head of oculoplasty department at Dr T V Patel Eye Institute, Vadodara in 2005 and also simultaneously started private practice as an exclusive oculoplasty surgeon. He established the whole department at the institute. The department is doing more than 700 surgeries per year. He also established ocularistry department at the institute in 2007. He is involved in post-graduate and fellow teaching programme at the institute. He started, first of its kind, exclusive oculoplasty private clinic-Orbit Eye Hospital- with full facility in 2010. He has presented papers and given lectures at various national meetings. He has also published couple of articles in peer reviewed journals.
